Aquatic Dreams led a trip to the beautiful island of St. Croix this past June. As many of you know, on these types of trips we rent houses or villas rather than hotels and provide our group the best trip possible. We were lucky enough to meet Michael Hartlage and stay at Larimar, a villa on the north shore of St. Croix. Michael was a combination property manager, tour guide, encyclopedia of all things St. Croix, and truly “mine host”. We were lucky to meet him and look forward to many return trips to Larimar and visiting with Michael.
As on our previous trip to the island, the group spent an evening at the Palms resort for dinner and show featuring music and dance, the Mocko Jumbies, and Kiki and the Flaming Gypsies. The group went on a sunset sail of Christiansted harbor, and new this year, Michael helped arrange a private performance by Kiki and the Flaming Gypsies and her boyfriend, Neil. Not only did the group play host to Kiki and her group and see a wonderful performance, the group went out to dinner afterward and spent the evening with Kiki, Kristen, Neil and the rest of the Gypsies.
Diving was excellent as always. Not only did we dive the West End and the pier, and see seahorses, stingrays, octopus, and frogfish, the group also did shore diving along the Cane Bay wall and dove over the edge, where the wall drops from 100 feet to 12,000 feet, and dove with several sharks who circled the group and enjoyed getting pictures taken.
A great time was had and we cannot wait to head back and visit old friends and new and share the beautiful island with more of the Aquatic Dreams family!
